Thinking of You

The holidays can bring a lot of mixed emotions. The cheer and decorations can spark moments of grief or loneliness. A Christmas carol can remind of times past and sometimes it's hard to navigate the joy of the season and the weight of sadness. Perhaps it's been a while since you've seen a family member or a longtime friend and they feel far off.

I invite you to embrace those who may be feeling lonely or sad this season and let them know that you are thinking of them. A small gift in the mail, a phone call or text, maybe even a Christmas card will brighten their day. As a community we get the privilege to let people know that they aren't alone or forgotten. Who can you reach out to today? What memories can you share together? Is there a craft that you can encourage them to try? What makes them smile and feel loved? You may not be able to hug them in person but you may be able to send them a hug in other thoughtful ways.

It is one of our greatest joys to send gifts to your loved ones. If you ever want to have a gift shipped directly to a loved one, simply leave a note at checkout with their name, shipping address, and indicate that it's a gift. You can even personalize a message and I'll send a card with your message along with your gift. This is free of charge on any order at any time of year.

If you are feeling lonely or going through a time of grief this holiday season I want to tell you that I am praying for you. You don't have to be happy all month. You might be dreading the celebrations to come and that's ok. This too shall pass and you will make it through. Take the small moments of joy with gratitude and accept the moments of grief with tears - life is always a mixture of both. You are not alone.

Love,

Ester
